It's funny the things that stick. In college, my friends, like all college students overburdened by the requirements of studies and lifting multiple cases of beer, wanted to lighten their load in every way they could. So to make their lives that much easier, to reduce the burden of pronouncing both syllables in my last name, my friends took to simply calling me "Wa" (pronounced "Wah").

Coincidentally, the word "Wa," in Japanese, means harmony and balance. That is SO me.

Thus I name my blog the "The Wa Blog." It does not exist yet, of course. But it is COMING IN MAY 2008!! At the Wa Blog actual Wa blogging is guaranteed to occur. I intend to root through my teenage and college diary and provide choice excerpts with commentary from a now middle-aged perspective. Photos will be involved. Also, funny columns will be posted and other perks. It is not to be missed.

"Wa Blog!" is also a great thing to blurt out loudly in a meeting if anyone asks your opinion on the sales projections. Believe me, they won't ask again.
